The Friends of Douglas House, being the Friends Association of the German School London and a registered Charity, financially support the school since more than 40 years in cultural, scientific, linguistic and sports projects. To enable this important financial support, the Friends organise regular fairs and other events throughout the school year with the great support of volunteer helpers from within the school community. A further important contribution towards the financing occurs via the membership fees from Friends members as well as the sale of DSL and Friends merchandise. 

In addition, the „Friends“ see their mission in bringing together the school community via these events, and in supporting the school’s presentation towards the outside world. The annual Octoberfest, Christmas Fair and Summer Fair equally represent magnets for the German speaking community in London thereby play an important cultural contribution beyond the school itself.

The Board of the Friends

Members are elected to the Board and the Board decides, on the basis of the proposals submitted, how any generated income will be used. The Board is always happy to answer any of your questions, listen to proposals, or offer advice.
